Confused by intrinsic Confused by intrinsic
About 177 hours of drawing in intervals on an A4 sheet, it is small (A4), and what it is? Therapy for excessive thinking, what you see in it, it is to you. Check download link for sharper version.

Video of the drawing process (from scans) now on youtube and vimeo =)

8B to 8H regular lead pencils (Derwent gfx) and a couple Onyx ones which I really enjoy since they are harder yet dark, compared to regular leads which are a bit too soft for detailing when you move below about 6B..

"Esoteric Allusions" (a 4x longer project and twice this size) :

I wouldn't have the patience (or time, hehe) to complete an artwork that takes 177 hours.
That's amazing.
Love the shading!

You might notice the extreme reduction in sharpness comparing the one above and the download link, well I guess it gets re-encoded even if selecting full-res on upload, complaint! Nah, but check the download link for reference it's way sharper (and that one was the one I upped) ;) Working on a new one..trying something "compositional" & peace out!

No focal point, like the dreams of todays children, awash in gorgeous technology without meaning!:)
They and perhaps you will one day rule us all!
Really nice work!:)

Thank you :) Meaning to me sometimes lie in escape from certainty, a separation of "arts" and "crafts" is to me invalid, but I know not everyone agree, it is an ongoing debate which I prefer to watch from the sidelines, most of the time I can't agree with myself either :shifty: I just draw and see a progress, as a :meditation: therapy :)

Wow!really well said!
So much of my art has a composition and focal point but the vast majority of time is spent in the "craft"
zone making therapeutic lines.
Your piece hit me with a powerful message about message about modern times, made all the more beautiful by the fact that it was unintended!:)

Thanks for nice words :) I want to explore focus & composition more too, these are what I call "full sheets", I'd love to (maybe not all the time :O_o:) surround myself with this kind of intertwined semi-organic matter on all walls and furniture, but that would require more patience than I got.. all awe to H. R. Giger and his home with airbrushed walls.. :)

Thank you! :) My vision has been a bit strained, almost blurred at times lately, probably due to stress. I'll see if I can fix this one a bit more, trying to get the most from the shades, and getting it sharp and clear, sometimes feels like an endless task if obsessing it, specially if preparing for large print from such small material :)

Lovely piece Thomas. I love the way the lines go....all adds to the perspectives. Delicious linage!! The shadows, the lights.....mmmmmmm....organic....very good. Did you try this with ink pens?? Darks and lights and all? And yes I saw this one: [link] but that one is different.
Added this one (no doubt) to my favourites of course!!
